Given the turbulent environment, we have pulled together a completely new and virtual lineup for our annual 501(c)onference designed to be responsive to the pressures placed on nonprofit organizations from the COVID-19 pandemic and economic downturn. We know community needs will continue to grow, and helping organizations become more responsive in the current environment is CNM’s highest priority.
Day One: The essential role nonprofits play in any recovery is the theme of a discussion led by Jan Masaoka, CEO, Cal Nonprofits; and Chris Hoene, Executive Director, California Budget & Policy Center. Sessions include adapting organization finances for survival, creative fundraising in uncertain times, and breaking the barriers to ending homelessness.
Day Two: A keynote by Dr. Lucy Jones, seismologist and public voice for earthquake safety in California, looks at nonprofit preparedness followed by practical ‘how-to’ direction on creating a nonprofit emergency toolkit. Breakouts include sessions on creative media relations strategies and better cultural sensitivity for nonprofit organizations.
Day Three: Leading change and building movements, impact, and reach are addressed by senior leaders from Community Partners, Weingart Foundation, and Inclusive Action for the City. Sessions offer useful insights on both managing stress and planning for a renewed way forward.
